I've seen them at the stereo shop. They're flat and in an aluminum box. Not sure how they work, but it would be a decent alternative.
My weekender has the extra door speakers, but my DD doesn't.
It does make a pretty big difference.
Thinking about adding the compact sub or the shelf speakers to the DD myself.
