hook up your positive of the spare battery to the terminal in the fuse box and the negative to the steering column under the dash, put the whole lot on the drivers footwell, close the door, lock it with the key in the door then press and hold the button to release the hood and it should pop open.
mines set the alarm off just like yours but when i closed and locked the door the button on the key popped it open...
