Thanks SD--- the guys says he had the car smogged, but has not changed registration to CA-- reading your chart it will have to pass a CA smog test

Just to be clear, my interpretation is that he should just bring in a copy of the smog test when he/you goes for the registration, assuming you do it within a reasonable time frame, not get a second smog test.

Do Calif cars have different emission systems than those sold in other states?

No, Porsche applies "U.S. Standard / Emissions".

i really can't wait to get a Boxster... really looking forward to a top-down tear from Irvine to Qualcomm for Charger games!

That seems like a long way to drive to watch them lose.
