It is a bad ass car...so much fun to drive and this one is just about as perfect as you will find. I was lucky to have found it!

A friend of mine just picked your red 944 Turbo's twin up at an auction (he's a dealer) for $1900, it was a gamble since they could not get it started to run it across the block which scared most off. He bought it, put a new battery in it and has been totally enamored with it since. He also has an '88 Carrera and an '01 Boxster, doesn't drive them much now lol.

When I decided a few years back to sell the 986 and jump to a 911 it was either going to be the 993 series (they were just starting to go up in value) or a 2002 to 2004 996 C4S with those beautiful rear hips, at that time good examples of either were pretty close in price. The power and torque of either (282 hp for 993, 320 hp for C4S) was noticeable vs. my Boxster S's 250 hp, the handling was not quite as good but not far off either. I know it will sound weird but one of the deciding factors for me is that I didn't like the fact that if "upgrading" to a 996 I would be sitting in the identical freaking interior as the Boxster, for some reason that bothered me.

At the end of the day, for me, the 993 was the choice since IMO it was the pinnacle of the air cooled 911's. If I were making the choice today it could easily be different since their values have shot up at a ridiculous rate.
