Oil sump is aluminum alloy so magnet won't stick to it. Trans use a bracket to hold magnet in place which they need since the lubricant is only changed every 90K miles.
Similar mag bracket in the oil sump would block oil flow to the pickup tube. Oil gets drained more often so you can get by without a magnet, but I install LN magnetic drainplug at 1st oil change.
