I think he's just trying to increase his street cred; trying to "earn" respect from the rapper thugs.
The kid's got everything any young man could possibly want. Maybe his irresponsibility could be cured with a short stay in the Pen. He'd certainly acquire a lot of "friends" quickly. FRESH FISH!!!!!
