Hi,

Did you disconnect the Battery before swapping out the MAF? You should have (ALWAYS disconnect the Battery before doing ANY electrical work on the Car, or you could need to add a spendy, new, DME to your Parts List!), and I assume you did.

Such being the Case, then yes, it's the DME's Adaptive Memory which was wiped out and then had to relearn, in the interim, it switches to a Default MAP. It will continue to learn for a Drive Cycle or two. Good Job!...
