Does the DME adjust to the new MAF,is that what caused the funky idle?

Hi,
Did you disconnect the Battery before swapping out the MAF? You
should have (
ALWAYS disconnect the Battery before doing
ANY electrical work on the Car, or you could need to add a spendy, new, DME to your Parts List!), and I assume you did.
Such being the Case, then yes, it's the DME's Adaptive Memory which was wiped out and then had to relearn, in the interim, it switches to a Default MAP. It will continue to learn for a Drive Cycle or two. Good Job!...
Happy Motoring!... Jim'99
