If you can swing a wrench at all, and have the spot to do it, swapping in a new (like) motor is not a big deal. If you don't have tools, the tool set to do it (jacks, jack stands etc) will be several hundred dollars. I'm just finishing up a rebuild and recording the installation for posterity.
