As for gunning the minute you get in, the best practice is to watch how long it takes your temp gauge to point straight up and then double that amount of time for the engine oil to come up to non-self-destructing temperature. So if it takes 10-15 minutes from when you drive off, keep the revs below 3K. Remember the best drivers are those who are the least punishing to their highly engineered equipment. This car is a scalpel not a hammer. If you treat like a hammer, get ready for some large repair bills. Way bigger than what you'll see with any domestic.
