The 30 pin adapter I got is this one:
I knew there wouldn't be room for the one without the cable. Thanks for the pics, I really didn't want to grind on the visible parts of the side pieces if I didn't have too. I wasn't planning on using the audio out jack either. The adapter should take care of my audio needs. Hopefully I will start grinding tomorrow.
