It's all about the load carrying capacity of the tires. Read on the side of each tire the load capacity at what psi. If your old tire has a higher load capacity at the same psi you must raise psi in the new tire to compensate for the smaller volume of air in the lower profile tire. If you don't have the old tires try tirerack for capacity of your previous size. It's always safer to have too much than too little so start high & reduce slowly from there to soften ride & even out tread wear.
