Just to clarify things, I should add that Jake did send a PM: "No, cars post 2003 have 3 chain engines with load sensitive- constantly variable adjustment".
Thanks, Jake. I should have guessed that's why Porsche called this version "Continuous Variocam." So for me there's clearly no simple formula for avoiding the engaging or disengaging the Variocam feature based on rpms.
