Replaced the headlight switch this afternoon.

Hopefully, it was the reason why both my low beams would not start occasionally when I switched them on. Otherwise, the electrical part of the ignition switch is the likely root of the problem.

BTW: the Pelican DIY is great. Be sure to read the comments to learn about the bezel trick. All in all, it took me about 30 minutes to do the job. Having done it once, I could do the job in 15 minutes now. Tool needed were a trox 20 driver, a small flat screwdriver for releasing the switch button, and channel locks to loosen the 24 mm nut that holds the switch in place. I didn't really need the 24 mm deep socket Pelican suggested for removing the nut.
