Hi, I'm new here. No Boxster yet, but on my agenda. I have
lowered 2 iterations of VWs (GTI and Turbo NB). A lift helps immensely, as well as air tools. A spring compressor is a must
for the struts, unless you wish to risk bodily injury or death.
You do not need to do anything to your brakes, save supporting
the axles once the shocks are off (to keep from breaking your
barke lines). With a lift and a manual spring compressor it took
me about 2 hours to do my NB. When I did the GTI I had access
to an air powered spring compressor which made the struts cake.
That job too all of 45 minutes. Hope this helps.
