Nope, I did mine without the bumper removed. Just need a 13mm wrench to get the top two nuts (attaching to a stud on the exhaust).

Life will be much easier if you can get the C-pipes on the side off, but mine were on there good. Somehow still managed to wrestle the muffler down off the car after playing with some angles.

When you put all the slip fits back on. Start up the car and get under there with your hand and feel for any leaks, keep adjusting the location of both the pipe and the clamp itself until the leak is gone. You WILL notice a leak, even if its a small one.
