I posted this on the Rennlist 996 forum and got some good feedback. The FVD unit above is manufactured by Numeric and sold by retailers with their name on it.

A better option may be to go with a 997 SSK (997 424 983 00), or a 997 GT3 stock unit (read not SSK) (997 424 010 91). The GT3 console has billet aluminum bushings whereas the 997 SSK has plastic bushings.

These units are several hundred dollars less that the Numeric units.

As with most things, there are a lot of opinions out there. The one opinion that is consistent is that either of these units will be a huge improvement over what we have now.

I'll continue my homework and let you know what I end up with.
