'97 Boxster electrical issue

My '97 Boxster has been running fine but all of a sudden the electrical door locks don't work, the power window switches don’t drive the windows, the front trunk light does not work and starter position on the key does not crank engine. Battery voltage OK and no drop when in start position. The headlights, the heater blowers, the radio and the instruments are all working correctly. I would think starter solenoid except for other electrical issues happening at the same time. I tried another key in case it was a key chip failure, but it made no difference. A fellow on the Pelican Parts forum thought it might be ignition switch or immobilizer failure from getting wet. We have had alot of rain lately and the carpet is damp but not soaking wet, also I had driven it yesterday and the problem showed up when I was going to run an errand about 20 minutes after arriving home. Appreciate any ideas or thoughts.
