I thought that the brake pad sensors were a "one-time" use only item. When the small loop of wire in the sensor is broken, then the circuit is open and the light comes on. I don't know of a way to turn the light off without replacing the sensor (or somehow repairing the broken loop of wire in the sensor).

I say all of this because I am not sure how cleaning the space between the pad and the sensor turned the light off.

What am I missing? Can someone else explain?
