Honda did the same thing with the new NSX after having Yokohama redesign the tires.
Lexus on the other hand refuses to acknowledge the exact same issue with the 2006up IS. Factory alignment spec has too much front toe out. I had exposed steel belts on the inner edge & 6/32's across the rest of the tread. I have to have it aligned to my own specs.
