Reconnect the battery and switch on the ignition - but do not start the engine - leave ignition on for at least one minute.

Thanks for the advice, worked like a charm! running grreat this morning, everything seems to be reset
and the ignition is perfect. that was why i had it disconnected, to replace the lock assembly and switch.
