for the record, I would personally not try to low-ball a private seller with these sort of tactics.
I try to buy trade-ins from dealers. I rather beat them up and here in NJ that leaves some recourse if there is a major issue. I've done this in Florida as well where the consumer isn't as well protected but the prices tend to be lower and the average buyer less willing to pay up.
I like to bust balls when the person is actually getting payed to get their balls busted.
