About 95-99% of these cars seem to be totally reliable, at least as good if not better than other vehicles. The problem is the 1% to 5% that suffer destructive engine damage from the defective IMS that Porsche won't own up to. Others will have lots of niggling problems (e.g., Corvettes) but I can't think of any other vehicle that has a total failure rate of 1-5%. I won't drive my Porsche without a warranty of some sort, the risk is low but the price of failure is too high.
