First of all the Cayenne (with the 6) will get you around 17 mpg. Go for the S and you'll get 12-13. First hand experience. Almost every SUV is available with a 3rd row seat so there's no limiting factor there. What it sounds like you're describing is a mini-van  . Otherwise look at the Lexus hybrid SUV's.
