It depends on what you want. In my opinion, they don't need anything at all. You can add $24,000 in upgrades and you can't drive faster than I can with a stock S. If you want to race it, strip it to the bare metal and you'll feel like you picked up 50 horsepower. Otherwise, I would buy the oldest, best condition used Box and put in the engine of choice. Then you'll have the same in it that a guy driving a low-mileage, mint condition 2002/2003 or 04 S. Always - your desires, your choice.
