Since I didn't remove any material I don't think it is much stiffer than the the original. It feels firm, but not too firm to me. If you do a search there are quite a few post about doing this on Hondas and such. I have a spare from an earlier replacement that I plan on filling and saving for a backup. For the price, if it lasts a year, it will be worth it to me.
