Pull the plug on the valve.

Test the valve's contacts for resistance between the posts. If none, it's "open" and needs to be replaced.

If it tests good, check for continuity between the plug and the DME.

To do this:

Pull the carpet on the front of the rear trunk wall (the one the courtesy light is in).

Remove connector 4 on the DME.

Using a straight pin or another suitable probe and check for continuity from socket 30 to the plug on the valve.

If there is no continuity, trace the wiring for faults.
