Although both frames will fit on a 986, the frames can only be matched with their respective canvas coverings.
1997 to 2002 Boxsters have a 3-bow frame assembly.
2003 to 2004 Boxsters have a 4-bow frame assembly.
So, the canvas with the OEM glass window from an '03 or '04
cannot be installed on a 3 bow frame.
