IMHO you should be Ok, at home I have an '88 Alfa Romeo and also an '86 X1/9 and I have many used (and new) spares on my garage (required to keep them running)
Regarding price..? I guess that you should be able to get these components for a few dollars.
However is best to get the parts from a known person or a forum member because the salvage yards will also 'very low mileage...' ( yeah sure), because they "may" keep a record on the expensive components like an engine or gearbox.
