97's are also especially sought after for spec boxsters if I'm not mistaken. They run on 17's in the spec class as this was the largest wheel size offered when new.
I could be wrong on this, but your 97 may be worth more than you think. Talk to some spec boxster people on this board to learn more. Brad Roberts is one guy you could ask.
