I have a factory hard top. Like ddb says it does make the cabin quieter. It's like having two cars. A cozy coupe for the winter and a traditional convertible for the summer.

The other advantages are that it offers better visibility than the plastic rear window soft top and it probably helps prolong the life of the soft top since it won't be exposed to the colder weather. I put mine on last week and I will keep it on until late March so I use it 5 months per year.

It is a two person job to take it on and off unless you are willing to risk scratching the paint. Otherwise, I don't see any disadvantage to it.
