I wouldn't worry about that too much.
The "will Porsche lose its' identity" was discussed w/ the 914 (
flat, no curves like the other Porsches?), 944 (
water cooled, front engine, poor man's Porsche with flip up lights?), 928 (
big honkin' watercooled, front engine, way too expensive Porsche with flip up lights?), Boxster (
watered down 911 cabrio?)
A different story for them all now, eh? I get more attention in the older P-car than the newer and one day the Boxster will be that classic too. After all, it's a P-O-R-S-C-H-E and that's all that counts.
