GForrest2, I'm also surprised that you don't have cruise control...are you sure? I'm sure there were models that didn't have it, but it kinda seems like one of those things that just ended up on the majority of the cars assembled. I'm in the same boat as you are with a non-adjustable intermittent setting, but I've also got a first-year model, but I think it cycles something like every 4 or 5 seconds, which isn't too bad.
