i read that it's bad juju to drive on the salt. not just because it's illegal (the salt layer is a quarter inch thick in most places and mud underneath) but more importantly as you drive all that salt kicks up into the undercarriage and all the nooks and crannies of your car.

it's not the kind of thing you can just take care of with your garden hose.

ps. I actually turn many of my travel pics into computer wallpaper for widescreen monitors. i just added this one. see the last on this link, then use the all sizes>original to get to the main file and right-click save to your computer.
