I have a red interior so....the red engine carpet cover carpet is fading. I see mine everyday; its right beneath the rear window??

I thinking about changing it to black colour...perhaps a more durable black carpet like you could in British sports cars..once upon a time. Can this be done?
Removal is a snap. 4 twist locks and the top piece is free, two plastic 10mm nuts and the front piece is free. 20lbs lighter and I can hear engine details better but it does get hot in the cabin. There are tons of these engine cover carpets available in black for next to nothing. See any Spec Boxster builder.
