It may recur. For the last however many miles since the boots were replaced, every time you changed speed the cv bolts rocked back and forth in their bores. This may have produced wear in the threads making it more likely for them to come loose again. If me, I'd use blue loc-tite, schnorr washers or wave washers, and torque to proper value. Maybe even drill and wire the bolt heads.
