Sounds like you need to read your policy more closely. WD may well be within what the policy allows.
Have you thought about calling another dealer and a couple of idie shops to see what they charge? These are both routine repairs. You'll quickly determine who's screwing you, the dealer or WD.
This seems like yet another example of why it's better to bank the premium and self insure rather than deal with one of these warranty companies that has every incentive to screw you.
