The wire doesn't run accros the tops where you un-hook the top. The are two cables that run down both sides of the top and go down to the transmission. It's a complicated procces to replace a wire. You have to Dismantle the transmission to attach a new wire. The wire is about $66 and it's about $140 in labor.
