nice, I wanted a Porsche all throughout my 20's and had the means but the insurance in these neck of the woods means I didn't have the means. Or just unwilling to. One year I was quoted $5,000! Now that I'm an old man its down to logical levels $1600 per year.
anyhoo... The guy in the pic has a GT3 for track and an S2000 for Autocross and weekend driving. He autocrossed the GT3 plenty last season when he was familiriazing himself with that amount of power and the way more abrupt changes of direction that we see at our local Autocross courses vs. any local road course.
I'm sure he wanted to keep Autocrossing the GT3 but it was too hard on the car due to the ride height. Acutally he says its harsh just riding on the road.
Personally I think Autocrossing a daily driver is an excellent idea. I've avoided some "incidents" on the HIghway (both times
with an SUV) that I highly doubt I would have been able to pull off withou Autocrossing. You just never stomp on the brake from 70mph that hard in real world drving.
