Get the error codes first to diagnose the problem, then clear the codes. You can do this for free at Autozone/Pep Boys. Putting a lot of miles on these cars with a lit CEL and no idea what is wrong can get very expensive. It may not be serious. It may be very serious. It costs you nothing to find out.
