If you are quick you can shut off the light by disconnecting the battery for ten seconds, and will not have to reset the radio code. As a new owner you might want to think about a Durametric package. For around $200 it will read codes , shut off CELs, and many other things that a OBD reader can't do. One of the better investments that I have made. Ed
