Model year 2000 and up have two sets of catalytic converers. The primary cats are part of the headers.

There are no 02 sensors after the primary cats, so it is 100% impossible to get a check engine light using the secondary cat bypass pipes on a 2000+ Boxster.

I have also read that the Boxster will still pass emissions testing with the secondary cats removed.
