I think the boxster/cayman is a better platform for putting down fast times and is a superior track car. The rear heavy 911 understeers badly in the tight turns and in the faster turns oversteer can be an issue. The car is simply fundamentally flawed and not balanced correctly. When going 10/10ths on the track a more neutral mid-engined car is better. The 911 is a good track car and Porshe has done a good job engineering the car to deal with its rear weight bias, but it will never be a neutral handling car like the 986/987.
