My NA Impreza gets between 25-29 mpg in mixed driving.
The economy of the WRX will vary with the amount of time the driver spends with his/her foot on the floor. If you can stay off the boost, the 2.0 (or later 2.5) is pretty economical, if you're flooring it all the time (which is hard NOT to do), you will be in the low 20s.
