The alarm system on these cars is fairly complex - lots of components. What mods have you done to your car? New sound system? If so, how was the alarm contact handled? Is your top up or down when this happens? What is the car battery condition, voltage? Any issues starting the car or other electrical gremlins possibly associated with a failed starter switch (ignition)? Any issues with the driver side mechanical door lock? Has the car interior ever gotten wet?soaked?

There are lots of components to this system, several switches, etc. It's unlikely to be anything with your transmitter (key fob), though not impossible, drop it hard or frequently?

The list of alarm components, or those contributing to the alarm system are:
  • 1 Control module
    2 Alarm readiness light
    3 Central locking button
    4 Door lock module
5 Switch, luggage compartment lid, rear
6 Switch, luggage compartment lid, front
    7 Switch, oddments tray
    8 Passenger compartment monitoring sensor
    9 Radio alarm contact
10 Switch, convertible top compartment cover
    11 Switch, convertible top closed
    12 Alarm horn
    13 Signal converter
    14 Transponder coil (key fob)
