good question. I've seen the concealed display dismantled and mounted separately (i.e. the lights and arrows in the tachometer or rear view mirror and the mute/mode switch on the back of the wiper stalk, etc.). But never have seen the core unit taken apart and mounted separately. I wish someone would though
