i haven't priced BOTH. are they the same cost?
do they both "drop in" in terms of installation? i assume from the pictures posted above by geoff and blue2000 that they both pretty much just drop in.

apparently, no one here has tried both.

for those who "understand" how these both operate - does it appear that the Porsche SSK (997-424-983-00) will be "notchy" like hte B&M and toher aftermarket shifters out there?

the big benefit to the 9X7 standard shifter is that it still feels smooth and NOT notchy - but shortens the throws somewhat.

if costs are the same, and FEEL is the same, why not go with the 983 series part and get teh good feel AND a shrter throw??? unless you don't get both with this setup and it actually will be stiff/notchy???
Call suncoast and ask them about the prices, these things change often. The SSK is probably more expensive.

As the lever increases, so will the force required to move it. There's no way to get around it. You can somewhat mask it with friction or counterweights, but overall force required HAS to go up, it's a matter of physics.

I'm surprised you haven't made a decision on this yet. I'd hate to know how long you spend on a trip to the grocery store
