Welcome aboard.

I'm no mechanic, so I can't give you a lot of info beyond what has already been said. I do, however, also have an "S" 3.2 that just turned over 40k on the odometer. (Happens to be an '01.) Soooo...hopefully neither of us will have problems! I kind of waffled on the drive vs store-for-the-winter issue, initially leaning (reluctantly, since this is a car I love to drive) towards the storage option. So, while I have been made a little nervous by the engine failure discussions, the commonly-held belief that driving is better than storing has been welcome news to me. (I still don't drive her when there's actually snow on the road, especially if the road crew is out spreading salt.)

Mine runs like a top and has been wonderful to own and drive. I don't lose sleep worrying about what might happen.
