Water in Passenger footwell, A/C?

Another problem!

I drove my mother to the airport today with the a/c running the whole time. On the way back I noticed that the carpet in the Passenger footwell was completely soaked (I have two, the original and one on top of it to take the wear and tear). There was a fair sized puddle of water (at least half a lliter of water, probably 1 liter).

My best guess is that it is the A/C evaporator coil (the one that is cold) drainage is backed up. Can anyone tell me where to start looking for blockage points? thanks, greatly appreciated
