Here's the break-down if I were to choose between them.

Boxster/Cayman S
- Flat-6
- Mid-engine

M Coupe
- Semi-rare car
- 50 more hp

So yes, get the M coupe if you want to be cool, but Boxster/Cayman is designed for true driving enthusiasts.
