I thought about vanity plates for a while after I got my Boxster, but then I decided that it might be better to remain relatively annonymous in a car like that. It's more difficult for someone to positively identify your random plate to an officer if they'd like to report you for say, passing them at 100mph on a two-lane highway. God forbid. I'm just sayin'.
